Join us for the Happy First Year Anniversary Celebration of the Biodiversity Institute!
The UF Biodiversity Institute (UFBI) was launched in July, 2016, to bring together scientists, social scientists, and policy experts to address critical societal issues of the 21st century related to biodiversity: invasive species, emerging pathogens, climate change, and food security, to name a few. This interdisciplinary Institute is accelerating synthetic research on biological diversity to serve stakeholders in Florida (a biodiversity hotspot) and globally through efforts to understand and manage biodiversity, develop relevant conservation, educational, and outreach programs, and shape policy to protect and enhance environmental capital.
Now, one year after its formation, the UFBI has supported seed grants to UF faculty, graduate fellowships, a symposium, and numerous seminars and workshops. Membership in the UFBI exceeds 150 members from across campus. We look forward to another year of engaging with the UF campus and the Gainesville community.
Friday, September 8, 2017, from 12:00PM to 1:30PM, in E251 CSE, we will host a birthday bash for the UFBI 1st Anniversary. Stop by and join us.
